I think this looks like it is going to be brilliant. Old school Flash Gordon, King of the Rocket Men style web series. Check out the cool photos on the official site. I love the cool Saul Bass inspired poster for it.

Pierre Laffargue’s action film Black is one of the six Fantastic Fest titles playing at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival and Conference. In fact, the screening in March will represent the film’s world premiere. Black stars French rapper MC Jean Gab’1 (Banliueue 13 (District 13) and Banlieue 13) – Ultimatum. Jean Gab’1 plays the titular Senegalese bank-robber (born and raised in France) who plans on going straight after a botched heist. Archie has made a discovery that will change the world forever. A toy radio. Archie’s brother Billy, is deaf. So, Archie duct tapes the radio to his head, to help him explore a world full of sound. Sophie is Archie’s girlfriend. Archie thinks he is in love with Sophie, but Sophie is not sure they know what love is. They spend their time waxing each other’s noses, deciding if getting slapped is worse than getting spit on, and arguing about anything that’s not worth arguing about. Then one day, Archie decides to steal Billy fare and square from their repressive sister. Sophie decides to go along for the ride. The adventure that follows will force them to seriously consider: Do relationships rely on riding couches through automatic car washes? Is a toy radio really the cure to deafness? Is it legal to throw dead animals in dumpsters? Finding the answers to these important questions makes Archie, Sophie and Billy examine their relationships in ways they never thought possible.
James over on Basket Case let me know about these new viral things for Roland Emmerich’s disaster movie 2012. They are by a character called Charlie Frost (Woody Harrelson) who has put together some videos about how the World is coming to an end. He also has a web site called This is The End which is pretty good. Here is the first one. James has another 5 over on his site. Go check them out and tell him I sent you.
UPDATE: Charlie Frost is also spreading the word of doom over on Twitter.
”He plays a dark and twisted guy,” says Denis Leary of Michael J. Fox, who appears in a four-episode arc during the FX drama’s fifth season this spring. ”He freaked out the cast and crew. They were like, ‘Is this what Mike is really like?”’ Fox portrays the wheelchair-bound love interest of Janet (Andrea Roth), the estranged wife of Leary’s Tommy.
Oh Chevy Chase..what happened? You were Fletch, you were brilliant. You used to look like this.
He’s going to be starring in an episode of Chuck as an eccentric billionaire. This photo is from Entertainment Weekly. The blurb with it states:
Chevy Chase (pictured, with Zachary Levi) will pop up in three episodes beginning in early April. The funnyman plays an iconic computer genius (think: Bill Gates) whom Chuck idolizes — but who may be hatching more than just the next great laptop.
Yet they don’t mention that Scott Bakula is in the shot as well? Oh Boy!
This cool little featurette shows some footage from Tales of the Black Freighter along with the voice of Gerard Butler. That’s the comic book story that is intertwined with the goings on in Watchmen. It is being released separately on DVD, Blu-Ray, and iTunes on March 24th. However, Zack Snyder has said their will be a complete Watchmen Directors Cut that will have the Black Freighter tale in the mix.
