Cool Minimalist Posters – Back to the Future, Blade Runner, Jurassic Park, Star Wars and The Shining
Posted by LiveFor on February 2, 2010

These wonderful posters are by an artist called Jamie Bolton. They sum up each of the films in an amazing minimalist style. I would love to have them all on my wall (Check out the cool minimalist Star Wars travel posters as well).

You can purchase prints of them over at ShootTheGlass for £10.00 each.

I’m guessing it’s the one that pays a wage.

Why the hell do you use the Snap thing?! It’s fucking annoying
Cool posters btw

Is the snap thing when the link brings up a pic of what the site is like? If so I will get rid of it if it’s annoying.
Thanks for letting me know

To be fair the first poster is inaccurate. Marty returns to an alternate 1985 where his Dad is a published author and Biff washes cars.
Nerd alert.

Wouldn’t have quite the symmetric beauty though would it!

Yeah I thought the bttf posters were good but wrong…

also the 2nd movie, the delorean ends up in 1885, marty stays in 1955. so a broken or dotted line would have been nice to ilustrate the jump from 1955 to 1855. In the 3rd film marty returns to an alternate-alternate 1985 because they saved the teacher in 1885 thus changing the name of clayton ravine to eastwood ravine…..i could go on but im starting to piss myself off!

While you all are absolutely right, I think the artist wanted to remain minimal. While the 1985 of the first and third films were alternate realities in themselves, they weren’t as necessary to put into the list as the Biff 1985-which was far more extreme as far as areas of effects go.
Also, the posters are virtually an illustrated version of Doc Brown’s descriptions (while he specifically talked about Biff ’85, Brown never got into the alternate reality of the first or third films), which as far as any of us know, could be what the artist was representing.

The Blade Runner one was fantastic. Perfectly illustrates one of the best analogies in film.

Maybe it’s just me but there’s minimalism and then there’s minimalism – this seems the latter.
