After The Blackest Night it appears that lots of dead DC heroes are coming back and this time they’re not going to be zombie copies.
Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Firestorm, Maxwell Lord, Captain Boomerang, Jade, the Reverse-Flash, Hawk, Osiris and… Deadman?
DC’s writer and Co-Publisher Geoff Johns gives us some info, over on DC’s The Source, on what we can expect and the new comics that will show us the way.
Twelve heroes and villains were resurrected by the white light. Some will call it a miracle and others a sign of the apocalypse, and though the exact reasons for their rebirths is a mystery, it won’t be for long.
They’re back for a reason.
Although they all have their own journeys ahead, they are connected by something and their exact mission will unfold throughout BRIGHTEST DAY. But while the truth behind their return and their ultimate destination lies within the BRIGHTEST DAY series itself and GREEN LANTERN, there are other books where you can follow these recently returned heroes to find out what life has in store for them and what they have in store for life.
In BRIGHTEST DAY, the whole cast will be seen with Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Firestorm and Deadman taking the lead as the truth behind their resurrections is discovered.
In GREEN LANTERN, the mysterious White Lantern will be the object of everyone’s desires.
In THE FLASH, Captain Boomerang will deal with a bizarre change he believes is left over from the black ring that animated his corpse. And the Reverse-Flash won’t be gone for long… but he’ll appear somewhere else first.
In JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST, Maxwell Lord the most wanted man in America is hunted by the former members of Justice League International; Booster Gold, Fire, Ice and Captain Atom. Why not the Justice League of America? Max is tricky…
In JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, the exact nature of Jade’s powers and their connection to the mythology of the Green Lantern Corps is unveiled.
In BIRDS OF PREY, Hawk will have to be balanced out by Dove..and Dove’s connection to the white light will be revealed in BRIGHTEST DAY.
In TITANS, Osiris will be seen as a way to Black Adam and vice versa.
And finally, in GREEN ARROW #1… well… I’ve said enough. Let’s let the pictures doing the talking.
It’s a new dawn, but what tomorrow is like no one can say for sure. Except maybe Deadman… who is ironically the key to it all.
All very exciting and intriguing. Now if only I could afford to pick up all the titles to follow what was going on!

A great April Fool joke but a cool, funny concept nonetheless. Comics Alliance posted the joke that Alan Moore’s next installment would go over the Atlantic – Lisa from Weird Science, MacGyver, Doc Brown from Back to the Future, B.A. and Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China.
When war-hero-turned-handyman Kesuke Miyagi is found drained of blood, it becomes clear that the occult gang known as the Lost Boys are targeting the only individuals that can stop them from complete domination of America. It’s the perfect case for the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen–except that their government contact, Oscar Goldman, disbanded the team in 1979 after they defeated Mr. Han’s army of the living dead.
Now, disgraced scientist Emmet Brown has to put together a new team to combat the growing threat of the Lost Boys and their leader, a newly resurrected vampire kingpin Tony Montana: Transportation specialist Jack Burton, ex-commando B.A. Baracus, tech wizard Angus MacGyver and the mysteriously powerful femme fatale known only as “Lisa.” But will Brown be able to stop the Lost Boys before time runs out?
Check out the paintings behind the new team – the Bandit, Six Million Dollar Man, Serpico, Rocky, Shaft.
Can you think of any other USA teams through the ages or teams from Japan?
Lovely geek/nerd stuff. Great April Fool as well.

The first Poster Design Challenge for Robocop went well (thanks to everyone who entered) so I thought I would do another one.
Here is the brief for the new one:
You are a film poster designer and have been asked to put together a poster for a new film called Dark City.
The only info you have about it is:
- There is a City that no one can leave
- Everyone falls asleep at the same time
- One man find himself awake
- Strange beings / creatures wander the City wander around when everyone is asleep
It could be set in any place, any genre, any time and is yet to be cast – you can choose the actors and director
You have until 18th April.
From badly drawn mayhem to super slick graphic design, all entries are welcome.
Post your posters over on the Forum – the best ones will get shown on the Live for Films website (all submissions are the property of the artist who did them, but having a go means you’re saying it is okay for me to post your poster on the LFF site – cheers).
Spread the word and happy drawing.
Go and create.

A couple of fan made posters showing what Chris Evans could look like as Cap. What do you think? Looks a bit camp in the one below. The top one is my fave, but neither are quite right, but good attempts by Christopher M.
I think Marvel made the right choice with Evans. We will have to wait and see.

I can see Lion-O’s sword,Mjoilnor (sp?), sonic screwdriver, Star Trek OS phaser, lightsaber, Blade Runner gun, Noisy Cricket, Harry Potter’s wand and I’m not too sure on the grapple gun and swords – Conan’s and Aragorn’s maybe?
Call me Ish and hopefully Fearless Leader Phil will be back on the posting game tomorrow as I’m burning out after just a few days.

Way back when Saul Bass did amazing openings for classic films such as Vertigo, Anatomy of a Murder.
Back in the early days of LFF, Fearless Leader Phil (hope you are feeling better mate), posted a Star Wars opening sequence inspired by Saul Bass.
Now here is one for the always excellent Tron created by Hexagonall.
