Sam Rockwell working with Jon Favreau again in the adaptation of the comic book, Cowboys and Aliens
It starts shooting in June and Rockwell, who can currently be seen in Iron Man 2 as Justin Hammer, will be joining Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford.
Rockwell will play a bar owner named Doc who joins in the pursuit of the aliens. Once Favreau and the writers — Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof — learned that Rockwell was interested in the movie, they reconceived and expanded the role, which initially called for a heavy-set man.
Rockwell’s previous experience with Westerns was in 2007′s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
I’m made up Rockwell will be in this sci-fi Western as I think he is a brilliant actor. From Lawn Dogs, Galaxy Quest through Charlie’s Angels Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Moon and more he is always great to watch.
Just a lovely piece of art work. Finally got to see Iron Man 2 today and loved it. Lots of nods to the comic book fans and Tony’s use of what looks like Captain America’s shield is brilliant. Robery Downey Jr was born to play the role. Nice to see Sam Rockwell doing some of his Confessions of a Dangerous Mind dancing as well. As for Scarlett Johansson in the Black Widow catsuit…..Kerpow!
Lucky Luke is a Franco-Belgian comics series created by Belgian cartoonist, Maurice De Bevere better known as Morris, the original artist, and saw its best period written by René Goscinny. Set in the American Old West, it stars the titular character, Lucky Luke, the cowboy known to shoot faster than his shadow.
The film stars the mighty Jean Dujardin (excellent in the OSS 117 films)
Warner Bros. has set July 20, 2012, as the release date for the third Christopher Nolan-directed Batman movie. Still no title, start date or story though.
The studio has barely begun the process of developing the movie according to Heat Vision; Nolan is in postproduction on “Inception,” but is hammering out a story with David Goyer.
There is no title as this point and no start date.
Finally our first look at Thor. Yep, that is a photo of Chris Hemsworth in costume as the titular Norse God and how cool is that. I just can’t get over how faithful to the recent comic book version the costume is. Marvel Studios are really sticking close to the original character designs in all of their films.
I do like the whole look of the costume from the chest plates to the almost futuristic chainmail on the arm. All goes along with the God like technology and brings to mind Arthur C Clarke’s quote, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Plus there is a definite hint of Jack Kirby to it.
Looks like Marvel officially released the first look at Thor after a photo of The Destroyer slipped out.
With Kenneth Branagh directing there is a very Shakespearean kind of vibe from all of this and I for one cannot wait for Marvel Studios next film after Iron Man 2.
What do you think of our first glimpse of Thor?

20th Century Fox have got the rights to Incognito – Marvels 2009 comic series by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. It is a very cool series with a great concept (kind of like Wanted in reverse) and I do love the main characters name, Zack Overkill. Here is the synopsis from Wiki.
The comic is set in a world in which larger-than-life pulp heroes and villains have existed since the early 1800s. The original super was an escaped convict named Kenneth Lee who went by the name the Black Death. His powers came from a radioactive object which landed in New England over 200 years ago. Other notable supers include the descendants of the soldiers who were chasing him including the Doc Savage-esque “Professor Zeppelin,” the Shadow-esque “Lazarus”. After WWII, the SOS agency created by Zeppelin has kept most stories about the supers out of the news.
The comic deals with former science villain Zack Overkill, who is in the Witness Protection Program after giving testimony against The Black Death. Zack is required to take a drug that eliminates his super abilities and given a job delivering mail in an office.
Trying to escape the boredom of a normal life, Zack experiments with illegal drugs. It quickly becomes obvious they interfere with the power-blocking drug and he once again has his super strength. He begins wearing a mask again and searches for action in the streets and back alleys acting as a vigilante rather than a supervillain to avoid being arrested for violating his parole agreement. His actions reveal to Black Death that he is alive. Several of Black Death’s soldiers attempt to kill Zack for his testimony
Should make for a great film. Who could they get to play Zack?
