Cool Minimalist Posters – Innerspace, Ghostbusters, The Fly, Back to the Future, Network, 2001 and More

I love alternative movie posters especially those done in a minimalist style. These are some more stunning examples of the craft. All are done by Brandon Schaefer and he has lots more over on Seek and Speak. Which one is your favourite and which is the cleverest?

Frozen – A snowboarders worst fear

Now I’ve done a bit of snowboarding in my time – I was rubbish, but I enjoyed it. Jinja and a few of the other Live for Films posse do it regularly. The chairlifts were something else I was rubbish about, but this new film adds another factor to it.

STYD had the excellent poster and the following synopsis:

A typical day on the slopes turns into a chilling nightmare for three snowboarders when they get stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that they’ve been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down.

With the resort closed until the following weekend and frostbite and hypothermia already setting in, the trio is forced to take desperate measures to escape off the mountain before they freeze to death. Once they make their move, they discover with horror that they have much more to fear than just the frigid cold. As they combat unexpected obstacles, they start to question if their will to survive is strong enough to overcome the worst ways to die?

Adam Green directs and it stars Kevin Zegers, Shawn Ashmore and Emma Bell. Due out on the 5th February 2010.

Richard Dreyfuss to go swimming with bow-legged women in Piranha 3D

Nuke The Fridge reports that Richard Dreyfuss will make a cameo in Piranha 3-D.It looks like this role will be a tip of the hat to the character that Dreyfuss played in Jaws. All that’s known is that his character will take down Amity brand beer.

There is even a school of thought that the actor’s character might be the first to die in this new film.

In addition to this, according to The New York Post, Ving Rhames is going to be in this film as well. Nothing is known about the role he will play.

Elisabeth Shue will be starring in this film that is being directed by Alexandre Aja. It starts shooting this month.
