Extended take Traffic scene fron Jean-Luc Godard’s Week End

Posted by LiveFor on April 24, 2010

This is a seven minute single take which has quite a gory ending for a 1967 film.

A supposedly idyllic weekend trip to the countryside turns into a never-ending nightmare of traffic jams, revolution, cannibalism and murder as French bourgeois society starts to collapse under the weight of its own consumer preoccupations

Week End on IMDB.

Serenity – Wash gets his own back in funny Web Comic

Posted by LiveFor on April 20, 2010

I love it. Sorry for any potential spoilers you may infer from this cool web comic, but I had to share it. Cartoonist Mike Russell, writer Mark Bourne and inker/colorist Bill Mudron are responsible for this take on Joss Whedon’s Firefly feature film Serenity.

I still really miss Firefly. Still mad that Zac Efron played a young Simon Tam in the series (check out the video below).

Christina Hendricks on the cover of Esquire

Posted by LiveFor on April 19, 2010

Why another photo of Christina Hendricks? Well she has been good to Live for Films and has consistently been in the top posts of all time on the site so I know a lot of you out there dig her. Plus she was in Firefly.

Here is a little of what she has to say:

We want you to order Scotch. It’s the most impressive drink order. It’s classic. It’s sexy. Such a rich color. The glass, the smell. It’s not watered down with fruit juice. It’s Scotch. And you ordered it.

Stand up, open a door, offer a jacket. We talk about it with our friends after you do it. We say, “Can you believe he stood up when I approached the table?” It makes us feel important. And it makes you important because we talk about it.

Panties is a wonderful word. When did you stop saying “panties”? It’s sexy. It’s girlie. It’s naughty. Say it more.

You can check out the Mad Men star’s Letter to Men over at the Esquire site. I still think she would make a great Power Girl.

Classic comics redesigned as retro syle book covers

Posted by LiveFor on April 17, 2010

How absolutely brilliant are these reimagined covers for Watchmen, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk and Power Pack. Just brilliant.

Steven Finch over at Fonografiks did the work.
Which one is your favourite?
