Sleeping Beauty – Emily Browning to play a sleeping sex toy

Posted by LiveFor on February 10, 2010

Everyone loves Sleeping Beauty. The classic tale of a beautiful princess cursed to sleep for a 100 years or more until the kiss of her true love wakes her. This Sleeping Beauty is nothing like that.

The Playlist have the news. Written and directed by Julia Leigh it is “a haunting erotic fairy tale about a student who drifts into prostitution and finds her niche as a woman who sleeps, drugged, in a ‘Sleeping Beauty chamber’ while men do to her what she can‘t remember the next morning.” She basically becomes a living, breathing sex doll.

Definitely not the fairy tale or Disney version. Mind you original fairy tales are dark and twisted tales. I also wonder whether Disney may have something to say about the name. I don’t think they have rights to the name as it is an old story, but stranger things have happened and in the murky movie world.

Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Jane Eyre) was originally attached to play the Beauty, but she has dropped out and has been replaced by Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket, The Uninvited) who also stepped in for Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch when Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!, Chloe, Dear John) had to drop out.

It begins filming in Australia next month with a $10 million budget. I wonder what male actors will be joining the cast?

Vanity Fair – Cover girls. Which ones will make it big?

Posted by LiveFor on February 2, 2010

Some more fantastic photos by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair. These are all up and coming stars of the future. The Vanity Fair article gives a run down on each of the actresses, but my question is which of them will be huge stars and who will disappear?
From the left – Carey Mulligan (An Education, Doctor Who, Wall Street 2), Kristen Stewart (Twilight, The Runaways), Abbie Cornish (Bright Star), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia! Chloe, Dear John), Rebecca Hall (Frost/Nixon), Emma Stone (Superbad, Zombieland), Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler), and Anna Kendrick (Up In The Air, Scott Pilgrim vs The World).

Chloe – Red Band Trailer. What happened to Amanda Seyfried’s clothes?

Posted by LiveFor on January 12, 2010

Catherine (Julianne Moore) and David (Liam Neeson), she a doctor, he a professor, are at first glance the perfect couple. Happily married with a talented teenage son, they appear to have an idyllic life. But when David misses a flight and his surprise birthday party, Catherine’s long simmering suspicions rise to the surface. Suspecting infidelity, she decides to hire an escort (Amanda Seyfried) to seduce her husband and test his loyalty. Catherine finds herself ‘directing’ Chloe’s encounters with David, and Chloe’s end of the bargain is to report back, the descriptions becoming increasingly graphic as the meetings multiply.

Directed by Atom Egoyan. Due out on the 19th March 2010.

What do you think? Will this be good or bad?
