Mos Def and Bill Moseley join Night of the Living Dead: Origins

Posted by LiveFor on November 20, 2009

A while back Danielle Harris revealed that she was providing the voice of Barbara in Zebediah de Soto’s CG-animated prequel Night of the Living Dead: Origins, which will fill in the backgrounds of some of the characters from Romero’s zombie classic and also have scenes of zombie carnage.

STYD spoke to Danielle on the set of her new movie, Jim Mickle and Nick Amici’s Stake Land. She told them that she had finished her voice work for Origins and also revealed that Mos Def (16 Blocks, Be Kind Rewind) and Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects) are joining her in the voice cast. While unconfirmed, early word has it that Mos Def will be voicing Ben, while Moseley will be reprising his role as Johnny which he played in Tom Savini’s 1990 Night Of The Living Dead remake. Day Of The Dead’s Joe Pilato is voicing Harry Cooper with Alona Tal playing Helen Cooper.

We won’t be seeing the finished movie for at least two years.

The plan is for Origins to expand on the original film rather then just be a straight forward prequel. A chance to see moments in the undead uprising that were only alluded to, while tapping into the back stories of the main character who have been familiar to us for over 30 decades.

Godkiller – Cool poster for animated series

Halo-8 Entertainment have released a new limited edition poster by acclaimed comic book artist Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash) for their upcoming dark animated series Godkiller, written and directed by Matt Pizzolo and based upon his original graphic novel. STYD had the poster.

Godkiller takes place in a dark-future after economic collapse, after nuclear holy war, and after Earth is colonized by alien races. Tommy and his kid sister Lucy live in an orphanage in one of the few remaining city-states, but Lucy is critically ill and desperately in need of a new heart. Tommy’s odyssey to find a new heart for his sister begins when he follows an organ-stealing prostitute named Halfpipe out of the city-state and into the savage borderland known as Outer City. Godkiller mixes unforgiving brutality, quantum physics, conspiracy theory, and secret history for an iconoclastic hero’s journey like none before it.

It features the voice talents of genre veterans Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2, the upcoming webseries Fear Clinic), Tiffany Shepis (Night Of The Demons), Bill Moseley (2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys) and Lance Henriksen.

In celebration of the October 6th DVD release of Godkiller Episode 1, Tim Seeley illustrated a limited-edition poster of Godkiller’s lovable organ-stealing duo Halfpipe (Harris) and Angel**** (Shepis).

Godkiller’s release schedule:

October 6th 2009: EPISODE 1 limited edition, shortform DVD
November 24th 2009: EPISODE 2 limited edition, shortform DVD
January 26th 2010: Day & Date – THEATRICAL PREMIERE of full feature, EPISODE 3 limited edition, shortform DVD
March 30th 2010: FULL FEATURE DVD & BLU-RAY

The Graves – Arthur Suydam does a new poster for Terror in Skull City film

Posted by LiveFor on May 20, 2009

Present day. Arizona. Megan and Abby Graves are inseparable sisters that couldn’t be less alike. Megan is a self-assured, naturally attractive, ass kicker. Abby is a cute, caustic, Hot Topic Goth who’s afraid of her own shadow.

They do share a few things in common: a life-long obsession with comics, pop culture and rock ‘n’ roll. Simply put, they are beautiful geeks.

In a few days, Megan will start a new job in New York. To send her off in style, the Graves sisters go on a wild, pop culture bender that includes a trip to uncharted Arizona in search of a kitchy roadside attraction.

Instead, they’re lured to Skull City Mine, a weather-beaten, abandoned mine town that harbors terrifying secrets. It appears to be haunted — Its twisted caretakers are murderous — Victim’s souls are ripped right out of their bodies – and that is only the beginning…

When Megan suffers a mortal wound, Abby must save her sister, but to do so, she must confront her fears and unlock the mystery of Skull City alone.

Can Abby survive Skull City’s threats? Can she rescue Megan or are they doomed to a fate much worse than death?

The Alphabet Killer Trailer – Eliza Dushku, Michael Ironside, Cary Elwes – It screams quality

Posted by LiveFor on November 11, 2008

The Alphabet Killer – A ten year old girl is found brutally murdered outside the small blue-collar city of Rochester, New York, and obsessed police detective Megan Paige (Eliza Dushku of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and DOLLHOUSE) suffers a mental breakdown while trying to solve the crime. But when the child-killings resume two years later, Megan’s return to the investigation also brings back her own horrific hallucinations. Even if she can prove a ‘double initial’ connection to the slayings, will she hang onto her sanity long enough to catch a psychopath? Cary Elwes (SAW), Michael Ironside (STARSHIP TROOPERS), Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Carl Lumbly (ALIAS) and Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton co-star in this chilling thriller directed by Rob Schmidt and based on the true story of the murders that shocked America.

All joking aside I do have a soft spot for all of the actors involved in this one. Cary Elwes was great in The Princess Bride and Michael Ironside can chew up any scene he is in. He blew up a man’s head using just the power of his mind in Scanners. You don’t mess with Ironside!
