The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Trailer

Posted by LiveFor on March 11, 2010

Oh the angst, the pouting, the men with no tops on, the pouting, the lipstick and eyeliner on Robert Pattinson, the perpetual look of puzzlement on Taylor Lautner’s face. Oh the horror.

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Bella my solution to your important decision is just one word – Threesome.

Can someone get me the number for Blade or the Monster Squad?

Eclipse opens on June 30, 2010.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Bryce Dallas Howard is trying to rip off Robert Pattinson’s head

Posted by LiveFor on February 17, 2010

Bryca Dallas Howard (Spider-Man 3, The Village) took over the role of Victoria from from Rachelle Lefevre in the next installment of everyone’s favourite sparkly vampire film series based on a book. FearNET had the image.

The new image shows Victoria (Howard) with her hands around Edward’s (Pattinson) head, preparing to kill him the old-fashioned way: by tearing his head clean off. Victoria’s boy-toy Riley (Xavier Samuel) is also present, restraining Edward who kneels in pain.

Twilight devotees will notice that nothing exactly like this happens in the book, although Edward does face off with the vengeful Victoria in the snow, so it seems as though screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has taken some creative liberties to raise the stakes in the third, and more suspenseful, film installment.

The film is due out on 30th June.

Jane Eyre – Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender may star in Sin nombre director’s next film

Posted by LiveFor on November 20, 2009

Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender are currently in negotiations to star in “Sin nombre” Cary Fukunaga’s (Sin nombre) adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel, Jane Eyre.

The film is to be a period piece but will play up the gothic elements of the story about Jane (Wasikowska), a demure governess who discovers her surly employer Rochester (Fassbender) is harboring a dark secret.

Wasikowska will next be seen as Alice alongside Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which Disney is releasing next year. The actress is also going to be in Gus Van Sant’s untitled project for producers Bryce Dallas Howard and Imagine’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.

I don’t think I have actually seen her in anything yet so not sure how good an actress she is. Ellen Page (Juno, Inception) was originally down to play Jane, but has since left the project.

Fassbender previously appeared in Steve McQueen’s Hunger, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Andrea Arnold’s Fish Tank.

He will next be seen in Neil Marshall’s Roman action film Centurion and Warner Bros. comic book western Jonah Hex opposite Josh Brolin and Megan Fox.

Fassbender is a totally solid actor. He was spot on as Basterd and just seems to be going from strength to strength which each new film. I have no doubt he will make a splendid Rochester.

I am just really curious to see what Fukunaga will do with this classic tale. Shooting is due to start next year.

Bryce Dallas Howard joins The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Posted by LiveFor on July 29, 2009

Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in Twilight as well as the upcoming release of The Twilight Saga’s New Moon, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the studio’s Twilight film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Howard most recently starred in Terminator Salvation as Kate Connor and has been seen in Spider-Man 3, Lady In the Water, and The Village. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film As You Like It.

In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

McG tells us things about Terminator Salvation – Spoilers ahead.

Posted by LiveFor on March 3, 2009

McG was at WonderCon talking about Terminator Salvation. Sci Fi Wire have a whole host of spoilers that McG spilled. My favourite part is not really a spoiler. Just very good news:

“No, there’s no chuckle,” McG said in a group interview at WonderCon in San Francisco over the weekend. “There’s very few chuckles in this movie. ‘Talk to the hand,’ Elton John glasses, that [has] no place in this movie. You know, [star Christian] Bale would have lit the set on fire. So, you know, we can’t, we don’t have that.”

He then goes on to discuss the title and gives us some news about Sam Worthington’s character which is not really that much of a secret. However, spoilers ahead just incase.

“We start this picture with Marcus [Sam Worthington] committing a rather substantial infraction. In fact, he’s ultimately put to death, which is how he ends up with some metal rods in his body. And he learns that people—he doesn’t believe that—but he learns from hanging out with these people that everybody deserves a second chance. Look around this table—where would any of us be without a second chance? You know what I mean? And he’s slow to understand that, but that’s effectively the expression of salvation, and that’s why we elected that to be the title of the picture. …”

Interesting stuff and confirmation of what many of us already knew.

He was then asked about what John Connor means when he said “This is not the future my mother told me about.”

“The future being malleable, no fate but what we make? Well, the point being she told him everything she could tell him about the future, and we’ve only been given the clues that the T-800s will indeed be there in 2029, and what’s going on with this movie, that speaks to “This is not the future my mother told me about,” guys, I don’t know what to tell you, … is the coming of the T-800 ahead of schedule. It’d be like all of us sneaking into Hitler’s Nazi Germany and saying, “There’s a bunch of V-2 rockets with nuclear tips, we better haul ass back to Allied Command and tell them this is a serious game-changer. If these things go online, we’ve got a major, major problem.” So that’s the future that my mother never told me about. The fact that, you know, here comes the T-800 10 years prior to 2029, and we don’t have our act together to a high enough degree to fight them with any effectiveness.”

It will be interesting to see why the future has changed. Was it Arnie’s travels in previous films? Marcus arriving on the scene? A scripwriter smoking too much pot?

McG then goes on to discuss Kyle Reece’s character as played by Anton Yelchin.

“..this is a story about Michael Biehn’s character Kyle Reese as played by Anton: seeing that people make sacrifices so that others may live. He witnesses that act at the end of the movie, and it’s a precursor to “Hey, 10 years from now there’s going to be a moment when they sit around and go, ‘We need someone to go back and save Sarah Connor, and by the way, if you go back, you can never return to this world. Say goodbye to the ones you love, say goodbye to [everything]. Once you go back, that’s it. It’s curtains.'” And he, of course, you know, indeed dies as well. And as a function of what he saw first-hand in this film, he has the courage at that moment to say, “I’ll go. I’ll go.” And this is why he became that guy. Which I like very much. …”

What intrigues me the most about this last bit is when McG says, ” he indeed dies as well.” Is that a slip of the tongue or confirmation that the age old rumour that John Connor dies in this and has his skin placed on the Marcus robots endoskeleton? I’m just reading too much into that aren’t I.

There you go. Still quite a bit over on Sci Fi Wire for you to have read. What do you make of McG’s words? Any ideas as to what is going to happen in the film? Go crazy with any ideas you may have.

Terminator Salvation – Sneak peek at the preview

Posted by LiveFor on March 2, 2009

Later today, Entertainment Tonight will be premiering a sneak peek at the new Terminator Salvation movie trailer which is attached to Watchmen.

In the meantime ET has this sneak preview of what the new trailer will show.

It includes the Moto-Terminators in action, John Connor battling it out with a T-800 terminator, Connor kissing his wife Kate (Bryce Dallas Howard) and a brief PG-rated glimpse at the now infamous Moon Bloodgood “topless in the rain” scene.

It is rumoured that this latter scene is being used to make sure the film gets an R rating. Surely ultraviolent death spewing robots would have been enough for that?
