Captain America could be Chuck’s Captain Awesome

Posted by LiveFor on February 6, 2010

Ryan McPartlin plays Captain Awesome in the brill series Chuck. While speaking to Moviehole he mentioned how he had auditioned for the role of Steve Rogers.

“The one thing I can’t stand are these actors that are twittering about auditioning for Captain America. It’s really tacky. With that said, it is in the casting process and like many other actors, I read for it, so we’ll wait and see what happens. Regardless, I’m pretty psyched to be Captain Awesome for the time being.”

Now I don’t think he’ll end up as Cap (although he does have the right look), but now we know the kind of person they are looking for. The casting for Steve Rogers should be announced sometime soon.

Chuck could have been in Thor. Warriors Three are going to be in it

Posted by LiveFor on November 16, 2009

300px-Zachary_Levi01In an interview with USA Weekend, Zachary Levi (Chuck) revealed that he was cast as Fandral — a heroic adventurer who along with Hogun the Grim and Volstagg comprise the trio known as the Warriors Three — before being forced to back out of the role to fulfill his commitment to Chuck. All because an extra six episodes were ordered.

He also mentions that he audition for the role of Thor which surprised me. Not sure he would have worked as that character.

This is the first confirmation we have had that the Warriors Three will be appearing in Kenneth Branagh’s film. Dominic Cooper and Jude Law are both rumoured to be have been approached to star in the film and both would make a great Fandral. However, I think Levi with a goatee and ‘tache would have been excellent as the swashbuckling warrior – I imagine him as the Bruce Campbell character from Xena.

As for the rest of the Warriors Three, veteran actor Brian Blessed — previously rumoured to play Odin — could possibly play Volstagg. Imagine Blessed’s character from Flash Gordon, but without the wings and there you have it.

Hogun the Grim could possibly be portrayed by either Colm Feore (24, The Chronicles of Riddick) or Stellan Skarsgård (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), both of whom have been confirmed to appear in Thor in currently unannounced roles, although Feore is supposedly down to play a villain in the film.

How do you think Levi would have got on as Fandral? Who would you like to see as the Warriors Three?

Chuck returns a bit earlier than we thought he would

Posted by LiveFor on October 12, 2009

NUP_111042_1145Chuck’s third season might get to premiere sooner than the March date that’s NBC had been talking about.

According to EW we may be seeing the new adventures of Chuck as early as late October. NBC insiders who’ve seen the first four episodes are calling this season the best yet – well they would say that wouldn’t they, but Chuck is one of those shows that manages to stay consistently good throughout the first two seasons.

If Chuck does come back sooner rather than later, the chances of NBC ordering additional episodes beyond the 13 it initially commissioned increases dramatically.

Of course that all depends upon the time and day it gets broadcast and if people actually watch it.

Are you a fan of Chuck? What do you want to see in the next series?

Chevy Chase will fix the Hot Tub Time Machine

Posted by LiveFor on May 29, 2009

EW has the news that Chevy Chase has been cast opposite John Cusack, Rob Corddry, and Craig Robinson (The Office) in United Artist’s Hot Tub Time Machine. It also stars Lizzy Caplan, Crispin Glover, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Clark Duke.

That is the comedy in which three grown-up guys return to the hot tub they once partied in, discover it’s a time machine, and are transported back to their days of glory.

Apparantly Chase Chase plays a mysterious repairman who dispenses pearls of wisdom and may or may not be behind the metaphysical road trip.

Steve Pink (Accepted) is directing the movie, currently in production, based on a screenplay by Josh Heald.

Sounds to me like Chase’s character will be similar to the one Christopher Walken played in that Adam Sandler film, Remote.

Jinja tells me Chase has been great in Chuck and I hope this film is a good one for him as I miss the funny Chevy Chase from Fletch. When did he get so old?

Chevy Chase looks so old. He’s in Chuck.

Posted by LiveFor on February 28, 2009

Oh Chevy Chase..what happened? You were Fletch, you were brilliant. You used to look like this.

He’s going to be starring in an episode of Chuck as an eccentric billionaire. This photo is from Entertainment Weekly. The blurb with it states:

Chevy Chase (pictured, with Zachary Levi) will pop up in three episodes beginning in early April. The funnyman plays an iconic computer genius (think: Bill Gates) whom Chuck idolizes — but who may be hatching more than just the next great laptop.

Yet they don’t mention that Scott Bakula is in the shot as well? Oh Boy!

Where’s Hellboy now?

Posted by LiveFor on July 2, 2008

After his fun inside the Actor’s Studio, the Right Hand of Doom is playing computer games with Chuck. I’m loving this cross genre promotion of the film.
