High School – Red Band Teaser Trailer

Posted by LiveFor on April 20, 2010

So it’s the end of the school year, and smarmy Principal Gordon (Michael Chiklis) has suddenly instituted a zero-tolerance crusade against his nemesis, the reviled marijuana. A mandatory drug test for all students is to be administered, failure of which will result in immediate expulsion. Normally, this would be of no consequence to straight-arrow valedictorian Henry Burke, except he just tried ganja for the very first time. With his college scholarship hanging in the balance, Burke begrudgingly teams up with charismatic pothead Travis Breaux to do the only thing they can think of to neutralize this threat—get the entire student body stoned.

In his debut feature, director/cowriter John Stalberg Jr. percolates his deliriously manic narrative with sparkling energy and deviant characters, joyously ramming his protagonists deeper and deeper into frenzied chaos. HIGH school paints its slacker wit with lush broad strokes, firmly accomplishing the conclusive stoner fantasia run hilariously amuck.

High School – Adrien Brody is Psycho Ed the drug dealer

Posted by LiveFor on November 25, 2009

This could be good or could be bad, however Brody is usually pretty cool.

The film, written and directed by John Stalberg, tells the story of a high school valedictorian who accidentally gets stoned the day of a drug test that threatens his title. The boy’s solution? Get the rest of the school stoned too!

The film stars Brody as drug dealer “Psycho Ed”, Colin Hanks as the valedictorian, and Michael Chiklis as the principal.

Sounds a bit cheesy, but could work out well.

Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch to feature naked Vanessa Hudgens

Posted by LiveFor on July 13, 2009

Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) had a bit of a scandal a while back when pictures of her not very clothed leaked onto the web. Now it sounds as if she will be doing it for artistic reasons in Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch.

Hudgens, 20, reveals: ‘I’m playing a character named Blondie and it’s set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there’s not a whole lot of clothes.’
It’ll be gun training, stunts, fighting and all that craziness. I can’t wait. I’m so excited. I’ve wanted to do an action film for a while.’
‘I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words but that’s the biggest difference.’

I wonder what Disney have to say about this?

Do you want to see Sucker Punch? Can Hudgens pull off an action film? Does this news, make it appeal more or less?

Zac Efron denies rumour that he’ll be in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Posted by LiveFor on October 23, 2008

Shiny faced, make-up wearing Zac Efron has denied reports he is set to star in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie – but insists he would love to be asked.

Tabloid reports last week speculated that Efron would be groomed to eventually take over from Johnny Depp in the Disney franchise.

It was said that the High School Musical star would pick up a $10 million (£6.1 million) paycheque for the starring role.

However, Efron told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning: “Honestly, at this time it’s just a rumour.”

But the actor is hopeful it could happen – and would snap up the opportunity if it was offered to him, adding, “I wish I was going to be in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, so hopefully that will happen for me.”

I pray to whatever deity that is out there that this never comes to pass. What do you think?

The Random

Posted by LiveFor on October 15, 2008

Adrien Brody and Michael Chiklis are in the indie comedy High School. The story is centered on a high school valedictorian who gets high with the school stoner and faces a drug test, then decides to get the entire school stoned so he can beat the test by making everyone fail. Brody will portray a drug dealer and Chiklis will play the school principal.

20th Century Fox is moving forward with plans for “Money Never Sleeps“, a sequel to Oliver Stone’s 1987 feature “Wall Street” reports the trades.

Xinhua Media Entertainment and China Film Group will make a $30 million live-action feature based on the life of “Mulan” says The Hollywood Reporter.

Warner Bros. has picked up screen rights for Headshot, and has set scriptwriter Alessandro Camon to adapt the three-book graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent – an unlikely alliance between a cop and a hitman takes place after each watches his partner die. The new partners seek revenge and discover they have a shared enemy and much in common despite being on opposite sides of the law.

Blizzard and Legendary Pictures’ feature film adaptation of the Warcraft franchise isn’t likely to arrive next year as previously announced. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime tells Shack News that “I don’t know about the 2009 date, but it is still something we are very excited about.”

The Jim Henson Co. has acquired rights to The Happytime Murders, a comedic film noir murder mystery that Brian Henson will direct for the company’s Henson Alternative banner, which is meant to entertain adult audiences. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story was written by Todd Berger from a story by Dee Austin Robertson and Berger, and takes place in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, with the puppets viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an ’80s children’s TV show called “The Happytime Gang” begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet — with a drinking problem, no less — takes on the case.

At a recent presentation of footage from “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, director David Fincher indicated his “Rendezvous with Rama” feature looks to be dead. Fincher tells First Showing that “It looks like it’s not going to happen. There’s no script and as you know, [Morgan Freeman’s] not in the best of health right now. We’ve been trying to do it but it’s probably not going to happen.”

1602. Louis Leterrier directing. Neil Gaiman on screen play. That’s the proposed line up, according to MTV, where Gaiman said, “I think it’s getting more and more likely as Marvel reclaims its film properties from all over the world. They’re sort of making their own movies and putting them out through Paramount. So they’re now in there with a chance.”
