After.Life – Trailer for Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci death film

Posted by LiveFor on March 4, 2010

Finally a trailer Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo’s upcoming thriller After.Life, which stars Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci and Justin Long. Pity about the dreadful poster.

After a horrific car accident, Anna (Christina Ricci) wakes up to find the local funeral director Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) preparing her body for her funeral. Confused, terrified and feeling still very much alive, Anna doesn’t believe she’s dead, despite the funeral director’s reassurances that she is merely in transition to the afterlife. Eliot convinces her he has the ability to communicate with the dead and is the only one who can help her. Trapped inside the funeral home, with nobody to turn to except Eliot, Anna is forced to face her deepest fears and accept her own death. But Anna’s grief—stricken boyfriend Paul (Justin Long) still can’t shake the nagging suspicion that Eliot isn’t what he appears to be. As the funeral nears, Paul gets closer to unlocking the disturbing truth, but it could be too late; Anna may have already begun to cross over the other side. With an unrelenting edge of menace, After.life is a stylish psychological thriller which provocatively questions the line between life and death.

Youth in Revolt – Micheal Cera not happy about being interviewed while Bob Weinstein makes the drinks

Posted by LiveFor on December 31, 2009

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Michael Cera seems to enjoy doing these staged interviews and set ups (another example below) and the documentary, Paper Heart, he starred in was pretty much one great big staged piece. Still Youth in Revolt looks like it could be good and actually shows a different side to Cera’s acting ability with his characters alter ego, Francois Dillinger.

YOUTH IN REVOLT is an outrageous and heartwarming tale of Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) and his quest to win the heart of Sheeni (newcomer Portia Doubleday) and hopefully lose his virginity along the way. Based on C.D. Payne’s cult-hit novel of the same name, YOUTH IN REVOLT is directed by Miguel Arteta (“The Good Girl”) and features an all-star ensemble cast including: Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Jean Smart, Ari Graynor, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis, Mary Kay Place and more.

MovieWeb have the news that Wood will portray Anna Surrat, daughter of Robin Wright Penn’s Mary Surratt in the film which deals with the aftermath of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It was also said that Toby Kebbell (RocknRolla) would portray Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth. Youth in Revolt – Michael Cera gets his Tyler Durden

Posted by LiveFor on August 22, 2009

youthinrevoltAt last Michael Cera shows he can act differently in his new film, Youth in Revolt. I do like Cera but was getting a bit fed up with his seemingly similar style in each film. Now this one shows quite a different style (watch the trailer and you’ll get the Durden reference).

Directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl), Cera plays Nick Twisp a 16-year-old who desperately wants his “dream girl,” Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday), to notice him.

The film is based on the book “Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp,” which contains the first three parts of a six-part saga. The film co-stars Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Fred Ward, Ari Graynor, and Jean Smart. It is due out on 30th October.

George Simmons in Re-Do, Dog’s Best Friend and Seyonara Dave

Posted by LiveFor on June 18, 2009

Craig, a workaholic lawyer, never made time for his relationships. Alone and depressed on his 40th birthday, he wonders about the life he could have lead. But be careful what you wish for…you might just find yourself in diapers! When a wizard gives Craig a second chance at his youth, he discovers that sometimes it takes becoming a baby to learn how to be a man.

These are a spoof films from Judd Apatow’s Funny People. Adam Sandler plays George Simmons the comedian turned actor and the film will feature posters and clips for films he has made. An awful lot of work is going into this film. I just hope it is good.

One evening at a restaurant, Robin (played by Justin Long) works up the nerve to ask the girl of his dreams on a date. And then Batman (played by Sam Rockwell) shows up…

I’ve put a couple of versions of it here as they can be a bit jerky. You can download the full thing here.

Drag Me To Hell – Poster for Sam Raimi’s latest horror film

Posted by LiveFor on March 31, 2009

Here is the new poster for Sam Raimi’s latest horror film, Drag Me To Hell. Fingers crossed he’s got his Evil Dead mojo working. I quite like the poster although it does seem quite Photoshoppy.

The story follows Christine Brown (Alison Lohman), an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion?

Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home. In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

Drag Me To Hell is due out on 29th May 2009.
