Paradox Entertainment is presently working on a reboot of the 1997 film Kull The Conqueror according to Fantasy.fr
Kull The Conqueror was directed by John Nicolella and Kevin Sorbo played the title role.
Kull first appeared in Weird Tales magazine in 1929 from creator Robert Ervin Howard. Howard also used Kull as a template for when he created the character of Conan.
A native of Atlantis, Kull came of age with his family in Tiger Valley until a flood wiped out his clan out. He is brought up by another clan, “but he stands up for a woman destined to burn alive and ends up banned from Atlantis. He sails for the continent and take up the mercenary way. He’ll become king, just as Conan will do thousands of years later. Under his influence, Valusia ends up as the most powerful kingdom of the time.”
We have already got a Soloman Kane film heading our way, Conan is getting rebooted and now Kull. Definitely a good time for Robert E Howard fans.
Who would you like to see play Kull – an unknown or an established actor?

Christos Gage’s graphic novel Paradox is in production with Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journey, Bitch Slap, Andromeda) as the lead.
“When they first mentioned Kevin Sorbo — he obviously has a great following [and is] a great actor — but we pictured Hercules with the long hair, and Ruth [Gage] and I weren’t sure if this guy is a hard-boiled, Homicide detective,” Gage told MTV News. “But when we first saw the stills of him, his hair is cut normal length, he’s wearing a trench coat, a fedora, he’s got that great face with the square jaw. He looks fantastic — like a ’40s film-noir guy.”
Gage’s Paradox started out as a feature film collaboration with his wife Ruth Fletcher Gage, but midway through the process they decided that doing it as a comic was a better idea, and published it through Arcana Studios. Arcana later brought it to Legacy Filmworks as a feature film project.
The story turns Gage’s experience with police procedural on its head, placing main character Sean Nault (Sorbo), a Homicide detective on a parallel Earth where magic powers everything instead of electricity and batteries. The movie follows Nault as he investigates strange murders committed without the use of magic — but instead, with science.
“They’ve never seen a bullet, their guns don’t fire bullets, they fire magical energy,” said Gage. “There is no gunpowder. So he has to research how this weapon works. What are these powder burns around the wound? It’s brand new for them, and soon he realizes that someone is using science to create a gateway to our world — the world of science.”
Paradox is currently in post-production in Vancouver where Gage hopes they will have a trailer ready for San Diego’s Comic Con International this year.
I’ve not read the comic but I really like the sound of that concept. What about you?

Been a while since I mentioned this film on the site so here is the new trailer for the movie, Bitch Slap. It may well be a big pile of rubbish but it does look like a lot of fun in a Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Russ Meyer kind of vibe. As well as the three female leads mentioned below it also stars the mighty Kevin Sorbo and Lucy Lawless along with their respective partners from the old Hercules and Xena TV shows (they can all be seen here). I posted a load of character posters a while back if you care to take a look at them. Zoe Bell’s character poster of Rawhide came out a bit later and can be seen here. It’s directed by Rick Jacobson.
At its core, ‘Bitch Slap’ follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer and a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort and steal $200 Million in diamonds from a ruthless underworld kingpin. Things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive for the score, the fate of the world hangs in the balance and they are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected… themselves. It’s the ultimate morality tale as, one by one, they realize the whole she-bang was a set-up and one of them may not even be human…”
John Campea of The Movie Blog interviewed the three female leads America Olivo (Camero), Julia Voth (Trixie) and Erin Cummings (Hel). The second part of the interview mentions Zoe Bell and an 8 minute fight scene between two of the leads. Here is the interview (it’s in two parts)
How do you like them apples? Will it be up for an Oscar…no, but will you be going to see it or rent it if it goes direct to DVD? What do you think will happen in the plot? There is mention somebody may not be human in it – so what do you think they will be?

Lots of stuff and photos on the film over here. Thanks to the people on the Xena Online Community Cast and Crew Center for pointing them out. The trailer and all the character posters can be found here.

“‘Bitch Slap’ is a post-modern, thinking man’s throwback to the ‘B’ Movie/Exploitation films of the 1950’s – 70’s as well as a loving, sly parody of the same. Inspired by the likes of ‘Dragstrip Girls,’ ‘Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill,’ Kung Fu Nun’ and the pantheon of Blacksploitation films, ‘Bitch Slap’ will mix girls, guns, outrageous action and jaw-dropping visuals with a message… don’t be naughty!”
