Les Aventures Extraordinaires D’Adèle Blanc-Sec – New poster for Luc Besson’s pulp comic book adventure

Posted by LiveFor on April 1, 2010

I think this is a great poster for the pulp stylings of Luc Besson’s adventure movie. Louise Bourgoin is Adèle Blanc-Sec and sounds like a mix of Hellboy, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Jules Verne, The Mummy and so much more. Check out the trailer.

The year is 1912. Adèle Blanc-Sec, an intrepid young reporter, will go to any lengths to achieve her aims, even sailing to Egypt to tackle mummies of all shapes and sizes.

Meanwhile, in Paris, it’s panic stations! A 136 million-year-old pterodactyl egg on a shelf in the natural history museum has mysteriously hatched, and the bird subjects the city to a reign of terror from the skies. But nothing fazes Adèle Blanc-Sec, whose adventures reveal many more extraordinary surprises…

Set in the carefree world before World War I, Adèle Blanc-Sec’s adventures see the brave young woman fearlessly battling crooks, corrupt politicians, demon worshippers and mad scientists. Legendary cartoonist Jacques Tardi’s original stories perfectly recreate the intrigue, romance and excitement of one of the most tumultuous periods in history.

The film is due out on 14th April in France.

Not sure if this is a new trailer or not and I’m in a lazy mood so haven’t checked. Either way it is still worth a look at Luc Besson’s new film.

L’Immortel (22 Bullets) – Trailer for Luc Besson gangster film starring Jean Reno

Posted by LiveFor on February 28, 2010

Luc Besson and Jeon Reno together again in L’Immortel is sweet music to my ears. They made Leon together which is just brilliant. However, Besson is not directing, only producing which is a shame. L’Immortel is directed by Richard Berry. Trailer below – let me know what you think.

After a long, brutal and successful career in the Marseille mafia, Charly Matteï has gone straight. For three years, he has lived a quiet life devoted to his wife and two young children. Then, one winter morning, he is left for dead on the docks of the old port with 22 bullets in his body. Somehow he survives. And goes looking for Tony Zacchia, the only man who would dare to try to kill him. Zacchia made just one mistake: he failed.
