Jonah Hex – Trailer

Posted by LiveFor on April 29, 2010

This trailer has its moments but seems to be a bit all over the place. Hex is a great character yet I’m not sure whether the film will do him justice. I could be wrong although I do get a whiff of Wild, Wild West about it. We shall have to wait and see.

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone…and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Based on the legendary graphic novel, “Jonah Hex” is an epic adventure thriller about one man’s personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.

Jonah Hex – A clear look at Josh Brolin’s scarred face

Posted by LiveFor on April 20, 2010

It has been an age since we saw anything of the Jonah Hex movie. Adapted from the comic book character this is the first proper look of Josh Brolin as the bounty hunter. I must say he looks a lot like the comic version which is very cool. No sign of Megan Fox though.

We will finally get a trailer for Jonah Hex that will premiere on the SyFy channel the night of April 29th. Then it will be attached to A Nightmare on Elm Street screenings.

What do you think of Brolin’s look?

UPDATED: Megan Fox as Red Sonja? Metal bikini ahoy!

Posted by LiveFor on April 5, 2010

It looks as if the Robert Rodriguez Red Sonja movie starring Rose McGowan is no more. He had been saying that they were going to wait and see how the new Conan movie was going to do. That may not be totally true.

According to Pajiba, the current incarnation of the Sonja has been scrapped.

Red Sonja was a comic book character created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith. She was part of the Conan the Barbarian universe and was a kick ass warrior who wore some skimpy chainmail armour. Brigitte Neilsin played her in a film version many moons ago.

However, the project is not dead as Millenium Films are after someone to rewrite the script by David N White and rumour has it that an offer has been made to a Megan Fox.

Before I go any further here is a pic of Red Sonja, so it is possible Fox would be wearing something similar.

You still with me?

Now we all know Fox hasn’t really done anything to show her acting chops so we don’t actually know what she is capable of. She can run, pout and pose in Transformers and Jennifer’s Body just failed and slunk away before anyone noticed. She is starring in the comic adaption of Jonah Hex, but no word on her performance yet.

Could this be the role that makes her? Is the rumour even true?

Do you think Fox is the right choice for Red Sonja? Will she suit the flaming red hair (anyone want to do a photoshop thingy that I can post)? Who would be a better choice for the role and who should direct it?

UPDATE: Thanks to Pat for knocking this one together using one of the Rose McGowan teaser posters from a while back (check out both of them here). Anybody got any more?

Transformers 3 – New Decepticon spotted

Posted by LiveFor on April 2, 2010

Recently there was some news on the cast for Michael Bay’s third Transformers film. It also mentioned a new Autobot in the shape of a Ferrari.

The Realm Toys had news from a studio mole who spotted a new Dodge Charger sporting a certain Decepticon badge. The Mole said:

I was doing my normal rounds on the lot and came across the Transformers 3 work. The main Transformers cars are all there including 2 that I didn’t see in the previous movies. One is a autobot that I couldn’t get close enough to take a picture of because it was being guarded so that it would not be scratched/ damaged. It was a red Ferrari. The other (which wasn’t being guarded as heavily) is a decepticon. It was a dark navy Dodge Charger. I managed to snap a couple of pics with my cell. Sorry for the poor quality.

So far the cast for the new film consists of Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, James Avery and is due out on 1st July 2011

In other news: Megan Fox made an underwear commercial

Posted by LiveFor on February 13, 2010

Yes that is Megan Fox in Emperio Armani Bra and Knickers, panties, or whatever you want to call them. No she doesn’t get naked. Yes this is a film site. Megan Fox appears in films ergo vis a vis..

Hey, Mickey Rourke recently said she is the best young actress he’s ever worked with and he’s worked with the likes of Lisa Bonet. Yeah.

I think the Architect from The Matrix Reloaded explains it the phenomenom of Megan Fox.

“As I was saying, she stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly ninety-nine percent of the test subjects accepted the program provided they were given a choice – even if they were only aware of it at a near-unconscious level. While this solution worked, it was fundamentally flawed, creating the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly, that, if left unchecked, might threaten the system itself. Ergo, those who refused the program, while a minority, would constitute an escalating probability of disaster.

Already I can see the chain reaction: the chemical precursors that signal the onset of an emotion, designed specifically to overwhelm logic and reason.”

Passion Play – First look at Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox

Posted by LiveFor on February 9, 2010

Mitch Glazer’s Passion Play has finished filming so now we get our first glimpse of the stars Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox via EW. This is the film set in 1950’s LA and revolves around a washed-up trumpet player (Rourke) who saves a carnival-attraction angel (Fox) from Murray’s menacing mobster. However, in the photo above I can’t see any wings?

Speaking about Fox’s character, Rourke said “She has wings, so she was sort of an oddity trapped in a carnival act. She’s been a prisoner her whole life, and she has no understanding of trust. She’s very vulnerable and delicate.” As for Fox herself, well sounds as if Rourke liked her as he said “I think the pleasant surprise was this girl who’s a world-class beauty turned out to be probably the best young actress I’ve ever worked with. I don’t know if a lot of her films have showcased her acting ability more than, say, being action-oriented, but she really stepped up the plate with this one and was very consistent and professional, beyond her years. At 23, I couldn’t do half of what she’s doing.”

His character in Passion Play seems similar to Randy the Ram from The Wrestler in that they are both seeking redemption. Rourke commented on this and also said some surprising things about his co-stars from that and their lack of chemistry, “Well, The Wrestler was quite tough. There wasn’t much chemistry there. Uh, that’s a whole other conversation. With Megan and I, there’s a lot of chemistry and a lot of respect. We’re both comfortable with each other. As far as the redemption is concerned, it’s almost fate.” Good old Rourke, always willing to stir the pot a bit.

He also spoke about Bill Murray who plays the gangster in control of Fox, “Bill came aboard after another actor (Toby Kebbell) pulled out, and I think his unpredictability was a very interesting choice on Mitch’s part. It made me scratch my head in the beginning, but I kind of like the fact that Mitch went against the grain and didn’t use a Hollywood stereotype. Less is more. Bill Murray isn’t your typical scary, spooky guy, and there’s something very unnerving about a guy with a sort of off-the-wall sense of delivery. It’s very unexpected. Some of your worst gangsters are guys who were very low-key.”

Writer/director Glazer wrote the scripts for Scrooged, The Recruit, and the 1998 adaptation of Great Expectations.

All in all it does sound like it should be an interesting film to watch. I hope Rourke brings his Angel Heart mojo to this one and Murray is always great to watch. As for Fox? Well maybe Rourke is right and she just hasn’t had the chance to shine in a proper role until now. His comments about the lack of chemistry with his Wrestler co-stars seems a bit odd.

What do you think about Rourke’s comments about The Wrestler and Megan Fox? Do you think she has hidden acting talents or is she just a pin up who got lucky?
