Criminal Empire for Dummys – Gary Oldman, Malin Akerman, Milo Ventimiglia and Harvey Kietel

Posted by LiveFor on March 11, 2010

Gary Oldman (Leon, The Dark Knight, The Book of Eli and many more), Malin Akerman (Watchmen) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, Rocky Balboa) are set to star in indie gangster project and unusually spelt Criminal Empire for Dummys. According to Variety it is set to shoot starting in late March in New Orleans.

Michael Clarke Duncan and Harvey Keitel are also attached. Cliff Dorfman is making his feature directorial debut from his own script.

It sounds a bit like the set up of Goodfellas as the story centers on a charismatic young man (Ventimiglia) who relates the do’s and don’ts of running a criminal empire through a flashback to his own rise from a tragic childhood and life in the ghetto to eventual position as a multinational drug and criminal kingpin.

Gamer – TV Spot – Last Time

Posted by LiveFor on September 4, 2009

gamergirlfrnt

Reality and video games merge in this high-concept sci-fi action thriller from Crank creators Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. In the not too distant future, mind-control technology allows humans to control the actions and movements of other humans, allowing reclusive billionaire Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall) to create the ultimate video game. It’s called “Slayers,” and it’s a mass-scale, multiplayer online first-person shooter that’s as controversial as it is popular. In the world of gamers, Simon (Logan Lerman) is a rock star; miraculously managing to keep his character alive week after week, he racks up frags like Billy Mitchell jumps barrels. But unlike Mitchell’s Mario, Simon’s video-game avatar is a living, breathing human being named Kable (Gerard Butler). Defying the odds to keep Kable running and gunning though even the most explosive battles, Simon captures the imagination of a global audience. Torn from his family, thrown into prison, and forced to fight against his will, Kable realizes that his only hope of ever seeing his family again is to somehow escape the game, reclaim his identity, and expose Castle’s dehumanizing technology on live television. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Directed by Mark Neveldine and starring Gerard Butler, Logan Lerman, Michael C. Hall, Alison Lohman, Amber Valetta and Milo Ventimiglia.

Due out on the 4th September which is this Friday.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead – Trailer

Posted by LiveFor on July 24, 2009

Julian Marsh (Jake Hoffman) is an out of work ladies’ man who lands a job directing a bizarre adaptation of Hamlet named Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead. After casting his best friend (Kris Lemche) and his ex-girlfriend (Devon Aoki) in the show, Julian finds himself in the middle of a two thousand year old conspiracy. The play was written by a master vampire name Theo Horace (Milo Ventimiglia) and explains the connection between Shakespeare, the Holy Grail and some sexy vampires. Now it’s up to Julian to recover the Grail and reverse the vampire’s curse…If only being undead wasn’t so much God-damned fun!

Order of Chaos – Trailer for Milo Ventimiglia’s new film

Posted by LiveFor on May 12, 2009

John Pulliti is the new all American apple pie. Almost rich, almost thirty, he never lies or cheats. When his beautiful fiancé orders him around and his ball-busting boss uses threats as motivation, John never makes a sound. Eager to do right, he is a perpetual “yes man”.

Rick Carlson is not. A smooth talking, coercive “no man”, Rick turns John’s life upside-down when he not only moves into his building, but starts working at his competitive law firm. Here, every new guy represents another obstacle on the path to partnership.

As Rick and others become more and more of a threat in John’s eyes, John becomes paranoid and obsessed with uncovering the truth about those who are intent on ruining his life. Driven by his delusions, John starts to become what he hates, and learns that in a world of no absolutes, right and wrong is just a matter of perspective.

Order of Chaos stars Milo Ventimiglia, Rhys Coiro, Samantha Mathis, and Mimi Rogers.

Armored – Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, and Laurence Fishburne have a plan to make some money

Posted by LiveFor on April 16, 2009

A crew of officers at an armored transport security firm risk their lives when they embark on the ultimate heist….against their own company. Armed with a seemingly fool-proof plan, the men plan on making off with a fortune with harm to none. But when an unexpected witness interferes, the plan quickly unravels and all bets are off.

Starring Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne, Amaury Nolasco (who is currently filming The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp in Puerto Rico), Fred Ward, Skeet Ulrich, Columbus Short (who is down to star in the adaption of The Losers) and Milo Ventimiglia it certainly has got some big name action stars in there.

Always good to see Fred Ward. I loved him in Tremors and Remo: Unarmed and Dangerous (Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins if you live in the USA).

Armored (keep wanting to type Armoured) is directed by Nimród Antal who, not only sharing a name with a mutant killing robot from the X-Men comics, also made Vacancy.
Collider had the poster and photos and Trailer Addict had the trailer. Watching it this looks like it will be of the old school variety and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of old school action now and again.

Gerard Butler becomes Citizen Game

Posted by LiveFor on April 3, 2009

This one totally passed me by but a few days ago Lionsgate has announced through Twitter that Gerard Butler’s movie Game is retitled Citizen Game:

EXCLUSIVE – GAME gets new title – CITIZEN GAME – in theaters 9/44:57 PM Mar 31st from web
lionsgatemovies
Lionsgate Movies

Apparantly it is all to help market the movie, but I think it is a pretty naff rename. Citizen Game – Citizen Kane. It is a crappy pun and I had to double check that it wasn’t an April Fool thing.

Teaser Trailer noticed the name change.

“Set in the near-future, mind-control technology has taken society by storm and a multiplayer on-line game called ‘Slayers’ allows humans control other humans in mass-scale. Simon controls Kable (Gerard Butler) the on-line champion of the game, and with his every move tracked by millions, his ultimate challenge becomes regaining his identity and independence by defeating the game’s mastermind (Hall) through launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him.”

Cast:– Gerard Butler as Kable, the highest-ranked warrior in the game “Slayers”
– Logan Lerman as Simon, who controls Kable
– Milo Ventimiglia as Rick Rape, described as “Moonraker, silver grill, with a latex outfit making him look like a bumblebee
– Aaron Yoo as Humanez Dude
– Ludacris
– Alison Lohman as Trace
– Kyra Sedgwick as Gina Parker Smith
– Michael C. Hall as Ken Castle
– John Leguizamo as Freek
– Johnny Whitworth as Scotch
– Zoe Bell as Sandra
– Amber Valletta as Angie

It is due out in September.

What do you think about the name change? Do you care?

Game – Italian Trailer for Gerard Butler sci-fi gaming film

Posted by LiveFor on March 26, 2009

In Game Gerard Butler (300) plays Kable, a death row inmate who has become the champion of an online game called ‘Slayers’. The story takes place in a future where mind-control technology has become the norm and the game ‘Slayers’ provides humans the ability to control other humans on a mass scale. To those that run the game ‘Slayers’, Kable is nothing more than a human bot – a simulation. But to those who resist oppression, he is the key to overthrowing a high-tech system of societal slavery.

Currently the official release date for Game is 4th September 2009. However, this has been changed a few times before

Written and directed by Mark Neveldine.
Studio: Lionsgate
Cast: Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Alison Lohman, Milo Ventimiglia

Order of Chaos

Posted by LiveFor on March 7, 2009

Order of Chaos stars Rhys Coiro, Milo Ventimiglia, Samantha Mathis , Mimi Rogers, Susan Ward, Chip Joslin and it is written and directed by Vince Vieluf

The film chronicles the duplicitous relationship between a naive attorney (Coiro) and a neighbor-colleague (Ventimiglia) and their fierce competition to move up in the firm and get ahead in life.

I just liked the poster.
