New Fast & The Furious film is go – Fast Five?

Posted by LiveFor on February 4, 2010

Because someone demanded it Universal Pictures is burning rubber and other road racing related puns for another chapter of Fast and Furious according to Variety. At the minute it is being called Fast Five, but I imagine that will be changed.

Vin Diesel is taking time out from talking about The Chronicles of Riddick to star in it along with Paul Walker. Director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz will also return. Basically, the series of films is making a load of money so they’ll keep on keeping on.

Diesel and Walker didn’t feature in the third film returned for last year’s fourth installment, which was the highest-grossing “Fast and Furious” film and Universal’s top earner of 2009 making more than $350 million worldwide.

The story follows Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen.

Shooting this year for a 2011 release.

Are you a fan of the Fast & Furious films? Are you looking forward to a new one? Anyone have a better title for it?

Higlander to get the remake treatment

Posted by LiveFor on September 23, 2009

Highlander-KurganArmorI love the original Highlander. Christopher Lambert’s Scottish / French accent. Sean Connery as a Spanish Egyptian with a Sean Connery Accent and Clancy Brown as the awesome Kurgan. A perfect mix for any film involving sword fighting immortals. Then there were sequels but we don’t talk about them in these parts.

Now the news is out that there will be a reboot / remake of the original film which is really cool. Then you read they want the people behind Fast and Furious to make it which is not so cool. Fast cars and immortals are a tad different. Does this mean Paul Walker and Vin Diesel will be taking over the original parts. Dear Supreme Being of your choice I hope not.

Acclaimed Action Director Justin Lin and Producer Neal H. Moritz Join IRON MAN Screenwriters Marcum and Holloway, Original HIGHLANDER Producer Peter Davis on Board

Los Angeles, CA September 22, 2009 – Summit Entertainment announced today that it has tapped the filmmaking team behind this spring’s hit film FAST & FURIOUS – director Justin Lin and producer Neal H. Moritz – to direct and produce respectively the studio’s re-imagination of the cult film HIGHLANDER. Summit’s HIGHLANDER is being written by IRON MAN screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Peter Davis, long time producer of HIGHLANDER, will also produce the film. Summit acquired the rights to remake the cult classic from Davis – Panzer Productions, Inc. in May of 2008.

Summit’s film will expand on the original HIGHLANDER’s core mythology of immortals battling amongst us, hunting each other through the ages by tapping its newly minted creative team to take its re-imagination to new heights. Plans call for the re-imagination to spur a new franchise for the studio.

“We are privileged to have this amazing opportunity to reinvent one of the great franchises,” said Patrick Wachsberger, co-chairman of Summit Entertainment. “Neal and Justin have proven more than once that they can deliver an entertaining and exciting blockbuster.”

Added Peter Davis of Davis-Panzer Productions, “Justin and Neal are an exciting directing/producing team and I am confident that they will deliver a truly dynamic film while being totally respectful of HIGHLANDER Legend.”

In HIGHLANDER, after centuries of dueling to survive against others like him, Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his kind, a murderously brutal barbarian, who lusts for the fabled Prize.

Justin Lin most recently directed the hit action film FAST & FURIOUS, the fourth film of the FAST & FURIOUS franchise. He also directed THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT, and BETTER LUCK TOMORROW.

In addition to FAST & FURIOUS, Neal Moritz and his Original Film banner have produced a myriad of action films including the upcoming FLASH GORDON and THE GREEN HORNET as well as I AM LEGEND, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, and I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.

Takers – Trailer for the film with the crap poster

Posted by LiveFor on September 11, 2009

takers-posterI posted the really bad poster for this yesterday and now here is the trailer. I’m not going to say anything about it. Make of that what you will.

Takers centers on a notorious group of criminals who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.

Takers – Truly dreadful poster. No honestly it is awful

Posted by LiveFor on September 10, 2009

takers-posterI have seen some bad photoshop work on film posters but this one is really, really bad.

Paul Walker’s head and a smug looking Hayden Christianson are just the beginning. Idris Elba how could you? Why did they never continue the brilliant Ultraviolet vampire series? Why Idris Why?

Oh and Chris Brown is in it so I assume his character will get to beat up some random female character…..too soon?

The tagline is “Everybody is After Something” – I guess that means the Studio are after someone who can make a decent poster. Can any of the many talented people out there make a better one for this film?

Fast & Furious vs Addictive TV – Vin Deisel remixed

Posted by LiveFor on March 26, 2009

Remixing fast and furiously for Universal, Addictive TV were asked to remix the new Vin Diesel blockbuster “Fast & Furious“. Burning rubber, skids and squealing tyres galore – this movie was made for remixing…!

Slamming the pedal-to-the-metal, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-team for the ultimate chapter of the movies built on speed. Heading back to LA where it all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to burn rubber, illegally race each other in exotic cars through the mean streets of Los Angeles, and floor them across the Mexican desert in this high-octane action-thriller.

Fast & Furious

Posted by LiveFor on March 25, 2009

Universal Pictures teamed with legendary graffiti artist Mister Cartoon to create an original, one-of-a-kind billboard for the upcoming action-thriller Fast & Furious. Assisted by artists Revok and Toomer. Check out the incredible video featurette that captures the step-by-step process it took for Mister Cartoon, Revok, and Toomer to create the stunning Fast & Furious billboard.

Born and raised in L.A., Mister Cartoon began his career as a graffiti artist in the 1980s. Cartoon went on to gain notoriety for his unique tattoos, album cover designs, logos, advertisements and custom lowrider car murals. His richly detailed, hand-rendered designs are inspired by the style of tattoos that originated in the hard streets of 1970s L.A. Cartoon’s art embodies the true soul of L.A. street culture and has taken the fine line, black and grey tattoo culture to the masses. Cartoon’s unique position within the art world helps bridge the gap between corporate America and L.A. street culture.
