As previously mentioned, Shadowland is a big Marvel event. Daredevil, who is now leader of the evil ninja clan, The Hand, is bringing them to New York and looks as if all the street level heroes of the Marvel U are getting involved. Check out the cool wrap around cover.
Shadowland will be a five issue mini-series written by Andy Diggle and drawn by Billy Tan. Apparently construction has already begun on the monumental fortress that will be Shadowland.
In these promo posters via CBR we can see The Punisher shooting Spider-Man in a very uncomfortable place, Iron Fist and Luke Cage having a face off with what appears to be Elektra and Ghost Rider smacking down Moon Knight. All very cool.
Oh I miss not getting as many comics as I used to. I’ve lost touch with what has been happening with loads of them which is a shame. I had heard that Daredevil had taken over the running of the ninja clan The Hand.
Now, in a Marvel event called Shadowland the Man Without Fear is bringing the Hand back to New York city and it looks like it could be epic.
Shadowland will be a five issue mini-series written by Andy Diggle and drawn by Billy Tan (he did the excellent cover at the top. According to The Weekly Crisis (cool comic site) last few issues of his main title we know that construction has already begun on the monumental fortress that will be Shadowland.
In the picture above we can also see what other heroes are going to be involved – Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Punisher, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Elektra, Misty Knight, Bullseye.
Really sounds like it could be a great event.
Anyone, want to bring us up to speed on the recent events in Daredevil?
Check out the trailer for the new video game, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
The video game is scheduled for release in September 2010 and will allow players to travel through four different worlds as distinctly different versions of Spider-Man from four universes across Marvel lore, two of which are announced today: The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir.
As Spider-Man, players will experience a wide variety of gameplay and dramatic environments. The Amazing Spider-Man experience delivers innovative web combat and visuals in a world that pays tribute to the classic era of the legendary Super Hero. In contrast, Spider-Man Noir features a cunning and covert depiction of Spider-Man, who utilizes shadows to perform stealth takedowns in a 1930’s-influenced, black-and-white cinematic environment.
“Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions delivers an original storyline that bridges four unique worlds,” said Rob Kostich, Head of Marketing, Activision Publishing, Inc. “Each action-packed universe will have its own detailed art design and thrilling missions, challenging gamers to use new skill sets to defeat enemies as they unlock powerful new moves and progress through the game.”
The next member of Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen’s New Avengers and it is The Fantastic Four’s ever lovin’ blue eyed Thing. Bit of a surprise to see Ben Grimm on the Avengers, but he’ll be good alongside Jewel, Luke Cage, Spider-Man and Wolverine.
I am assuming he’ll still be adventuring with the FF.
Looks like Jessica Jones (star of the excellent Alias comic) will be joining the New Avengers as Jewel. She’ll be teamed up with her husband Luke Cage, Spider-Man and Wolverine.
Bit surprised she is back in the spandex as I thought she wanted out of the superhero biz.
Brian Michael Bendis and artist Stuart Immonen’s New Avengers is out in June.
Marvel promised that they’d be streamlining the Avengers comic book into just the one Avengers written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by John Romita Jr. Then there was news of the Secret Avengers by Ed Brubaker and Mike Deodato.
Most recently is word of another title, New Avengers, by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen.
According to these posters Spider-Man and Luke Cage are on the new team. Who will be next?

Marvel have been sending out teasers for the new Avengers comic book by Brian Michael Bendis and John Romita Jr – the team is comprised of Iron Man, Spider-Woman, Hawkeye, Captain America and Thor.
That was thought to be the end of it as Marvel kept saying that all the different Avengers titles would be cancelled after the big Siege event and there would just be the Avengers.
Looks like that isn’t the case as a new teaser poster for Secret Avengers came out today. As you can see it is similar in composition to the Avengers posters, but the character is blacked out.
Turns out the new series will be writtern by Ed Brubaker with Mike Deodato on art.
Any idea who it is in the picture? I’m thinking Spider-Man, Black Panther, Beast, Dr Strange or maybe Cloak. Just can’t work it out.
Source: io9 UPDATE: Ed Brubaker sent a Tweet pointing to a new Secret Avenger teaser pic over at CBR. This one appears to be wearing a cloak and with the caption with it I am thinking it could well be a former bad guy. Maybe The Hood or Taskmaster. Any ideas?
