Death at a Funeral – Poster and trailer

Posted by LiveFor on April 22, 2010

Still find it crazy that they remade the 2007 film, but there you go. It is a classic british style farce and here is what happens when Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence have a go at it.

Made up Peter Dinklage is playing the same character from the original and James Marsden can be surprisingly funny. Danny Glove is always cool. Have a look at the trailer.

It is out in the UK and Ireland on 2nd June.

LFF Movie Club – Half Baked. Be friends with the Squirrel Master

Posted by LiveFor on April 2, 2010

“Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Häagen-Dazs ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make s’mores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Cap’n Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on ’em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons.”

This weekends Live for Films Film Club choice is the classic stoner comedy, Half-Baked. If you haven’t seen it yet, get hold of a copy and prepare for hilarity and a MacGyver smoker. You’ll never look at the back of a dollar bill in the same way.

After Kenny accidentaly kills a cop’s diabetic horse by feeding it the food he purchased from a munchie run, he is put in jail and is given a 1 million dollar bail. The rest of the group must bail Kenny out before Nasty Nate gets to him. The group decides to sell marijuana that Thurgood gets through his job as a janitor at a pharmaceutical lab. They become pals with rap star Sir Smoke-A-Lot and the rivals of dealer Samson Simpson. On the side, Thurgood seeks the love of Mary Jane, an anti-pot daughter of a dealer. What follows is typical pothead behaviour with a ton of cameos. Look carefully.

The 1998 film is directed by Tamra Davis. It stars Dave Chappelle, Rachel True, Jim Breuer, Guillermo Díaz, Harland Williams, Tommy Chong, Willie Nelson, Jon Stewart, Stephen Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Snoop Dogg, Janeane Garofalo and Bob Saget and more.

That’s a whole lot of people. So, who’s coming with me?

If you are just joining us the LFF Film Club is all about getting people to watch classic, cult, cool or just forgotten movies.

Watch it then talk about your favourite part, worst bit, best quote, coolest actor, plot holes, and more over on the LFF Forum.

Cop Out – Red band trailer for Kevin Smith’s new Bruce Willis film

Posted by LiveFor on February 5, 2010

Directed by Kevin Smith (Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Clerks, Mallrats), Cop Out features two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card who find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster. Jimmy (Bruce Willis) is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter’s upcoming wedding, and Paul (Tracy Morgan) is his “partner-against-crime” whose preoccupation with his wife’s alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball.

Kevin Smith directs “Cop Out” from a screenplay by Robb Cullen & Mark Cullen (TV’s “Las Vegas”). The film stars Bruce Willis (the “Die Hard” films), Tracy Morgan (TV’s “30 Rock”), Adam Brody (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”), Kevin Pollak (“Tropic Thunder”), Guillermo Diaz (TV’s “Weeds”) and Seann William Scott (“Role Models”).

Cop Out – Trailer for Kevin Smith’s new one

Posted by LiveFor on December 31, 2009

This is the trailer for the film that used to be called A Couple of Dicks. The studio got cold feet about that so now it is called Cop Out. Personally, I think that is a bit of a cop out…ah I see what they did there!

Looks like it could be fun and good to see Smith getting to direct more big names after Zack & Miri Makes a Porno (that was a great film). Smith didn’t write this one though, that honour goes to Rob Cullen.

Two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster.

The film also stars Seann William Scott, Adam Brody and Michelle Trachtenberg.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The film is out on 6th February 2010.

By the way if anyone knows Street Pete can you ask him why Bruce Willis looks so much like him.

Death at a Funeral – Trailer for the Chris Rock remake

Posted by LiveFor on December 5, 2009

The original Death at a Funeral was only made back in 2007 by Frank Oz. It was an okay comedy, well more of a farce really and I’ve never been that big a fan of those. However, it made me laugh in places an had some good performances. Peter Dinklage as the person who gets it all started was excellent (as he always is).

As you may or may not know Chris Rock decided to remake it and the trailer is below.

The remake stars Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Tracy Morgan, Danny Glover, James Marsden, Luke Wilson, Zoe Saldana and Peter Dinklage in the exact same role he played in the original.

It is directed by Neil Lebute and is out on 16th April 2010.

I think Martin Lawrence’s expression in the above photo sums it up.
