Megamind – A new look at DreamWorks evil genius

Posted by LiveFor on March 14, 2010

This was the film that was originally called Oobermind and was going to have Robert Downey Jr voice the main character. That got changed and Will Ferrell got the job. Now we have a better look at the main character (the only other outing has been on a poster from August last year).

“When super villain MegaMind (Will Ferrell) defeats his archrival Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the world should be his oyster. But instead, MegaMind falls into total despair. It turns out that life without a rival is life without a purpose for him. So he creates a new superhero rival, Titan (Jonah Hill). Unfortunately for him and the world, the new hero wants to be a super villain too. The new villain begins his rampage, and MegaMind sets out to stop him, beginning a path to redemption in the process.”

It is due out on the 5th November 2010.

Russell Brand and Jonah Hill chased by P Diddy in Get Him to the Greek

Posted by LiveFor on January 23, 2010

Here is the first look at the sort of sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall as Russell Brand is playing the same character in this one. Sean “Diddy” Combs plays Sergio Roma, a record company executive. It also stars Brand’s fiancee, Katy Perry, as herself along with Christina Aguilera and Pink.

Written and directed by Nicholas Stoller here is the synopsis:

Aaron Greenberg (Hill) gets things done. The ambitious 23-year-old has exaggerated his way into a dream job just in time for a career-making assignment. His mission: Fly to London and escort a rock god to L.A.’s Greek Theatre
for the first-stop on a $100-million tour. His warning: Turn your back on him at your own peril.

British rocker Aldous Snow (Brand) is both a brilliant musician
and walking sex. Weary of yes men and piles of money, the former front man is searching for the meaning of life. But that doesn’t mean he can’t have a few orgies while he finds it. When he learns his true love is in California, Aldous makes it his quest to win her back…right before kick-starting his world domination.

As the countdown to the concert begins, one intern must navigate a minefield of London drug smuggles, New York City brawls and Vegas lap dances to deliver his charge safe and, sort of, sound. He may have to coax, lie to, enable and party with Aldous, but Aaron will get him to the Greek.

Oobermind loses Downey Jr gets Will Ferrell

Posted by LiveFor on August 17, 2009

oobermind-550x268According to Variety DreamWorks Animation’s Oobermind will now be featuring the voice talents of Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. The film is set to be released in the fall of 2010.

Ferrell will be playing the title role that had been slated for Robert Downey Jr. He is a super-villain who wants all his nefarious dreams to come true when he defeats good-guy rival Metro Man (Pitt). The only problem is that he has nothing to do after beating his most vaunted adversary. To occupy his time, Oobermind manufactures a brand new superhero, Titan (Hill), but he wants to be bad, so Oobermind suddenly has to become good.

Apparently, Downey left the production due to scheduling conflicts. Tina Fey is already attached to voice a reporter who tries to make sense of this superhero situation.

Jason Segel opens The Adventurer’s Handbook

Posted by LiveFor on August 5, 2009

segellJason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will be joining Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman for The Adventurer’s Handbook for director Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod). The actor is attached to the film, based on the book by Mick Conefrey with the script from Hill and his writing partners Max Winkler and Matthew Spicer. The trio sold the script back in February to Universal, after it was sent over to Hollywood’s top studio heads on red, watermarked paper. The project centers on four 20-something guys, who inspired by a book of the same name, set out overseas in search of a mysterious location described in the book. R-rated in tone, the film is still in development and doesn’t yet have a greenlight or a start date.

Sounds a bit like a cross between The Goonies and Stand By Me but with an adult cast.

UPDATED: De Niro & Seagal may be fighting Machete!

Posted by LiveFor on July 17, 2009

We are all looking forward to the feature length version of Robert Rodriguez’s Machete.

Danny Trejo is back in the title role and he’s out for revenge.

Now Bloody Disgusting have some interesting rumours on other cast members:

  • Michelle Rodriguez will play a character named Luz.
  • Jonah Hill will play Julio.
  • Robert De Niro will play Senator McLaughlin.

That’s right. De Niro! If he is on a good day when he films this then it should be amazing. Plus he will have to have a big smackdown with Trejo.

Still just a rumour, but a very good one.

UPDATE: The Playlist have the news that Steven Seagal will almost definitely be starring in the film. Sounding like another Expendables!

What if Judd Apatow directed Watchmen?

Posted by LiveFor on March 10, 2009

The Watchmen haven’t been acting like heroes lately. In fact, they’ve mostly been sitting around their Los Angeles apartment watching TV. They’re the closest of friends, but when nuclear Armageddon threatens, can they put joking aside, face adulthood, and save the world? Starring Paul Rudd as Dr. Manhattan, Seth Rogen as Nite Owl, Jonah Hill as Rorschach, and Michael Cera as the Comedian. Kristen Wiig appears in a nonspeaking role as Silk Spectre.

Slate.com have other What If…? scenarious for Watchmen including Woody Allen and Tyler Perry.
